I felt that rating people poorly, when they took the time to comment - even just a couple of words, was wrong. I also noticed it slows the loading of pages. Finally They messed my account up, and I was receiving no ratings anyway ha ha!

I think Stumble is a better option.

Great discussion. The point of SezWho really is two fold:

1. Provide context on interactions
2. Provide a community based mechanism so that we can identify most sensible conversations etc. Not the what sensible means changes with context that is why it really helps to hear from the people participating in the conversations.

There is actually no need to get rated. In fact, high reputation users would start with a high default score.

So the idea is that on the internet when anybody can participate anywhere, isn't it good to identify who the good users are and get some context on them so that you can learn some interesting new things from them?

I'm ambivalent as well..I don't really care to have my posts officially rated..I think that my content is already rated by the number of comments I receive. I like the idea of getting folks to come by, 'cause if they see, they may like! But not the idea of commenting to drive up ratings or to obtain credits..it's really kind of artificial, if you think about it, isn't it?

Jasmine, I'm soooooo sorry! You asked me, oh, a squillion days ago, to take part in some writing venture you were up to, and I procrastinated, then got busy, then I took a nap and just plain forgot. Will you forgive me? If you still want my input, I'm determined to do it today even if it means I have to miss a nap...which will just about kill me, you know!

I'm with you, Jazz. Sometimes I comment, sometimes I don't. The rating thing seems like more work than it's worth. When I joined Entrecard it was just to try to get a little more traffic and to meet others and find some blogs similar to mine.

I only have time to post a few times a week, but I check out as many blogs as I have time for each day. Sometimes I comment and sometimes I don't. I like Entrecard because I've been able to find many new interesting blogs I would not have found otherwise, but I don't care to rate or be rated. Rating makes things feel competitive to me, and I really don't like competition. Getting extra points would be nice, but I'm going to pass on the rating part of it all.

I have joined, and it seems to be ok. Not many people are participating, it seems. I dont want people commenting just to get points. I want comments on my posts that they enjoy or have knowledge of. I didn't install it as I didn't like the idea of receiving credits for comments and making all your comments available for anyone to see with just one click. No I was reading that not even everyone who has joined SezWho is receiving credits because their comments are unrated or not rated high enough... so why all this hassle and high loading time for 2 or even no credits at all?

I am leaving comments as I want, whenever I feel I have something to add and whenever I feel like I want to comment. There are days I am just reading and also if I feel I have something to say I don't feel like commenting.

I am giving this SezWho thing a try simply because I hate just dropping entrecards and dashing off, but want to get credits. The technical problems are frustrating, but I think in time they'll get worked out. I basically like the concept, not so much the part of rating comments (which lately I haven't even seen the stars up for the comments)but the posts. If I come across posts that don't impress me, I just move on but if it's something I found very interesting, or in your case, funny, then I would give it a good rating. I think most people would be kind when it comes to rating other's posts.

I have joined for a trial period. The reason I joined is to get traffic and not for the ratings, or to earn credits. It is nice to be rated for your comments because, it should bring more readers. That's the idea anyway.

I usually rate every comment equally on my cat blog, so that rules out favoritism.

The only problem I see, is that people, generally are not actually rating, so it may not work out at all.

For example - you, when reading my blog (for instance), should rate various comments, and my remarks and post.

If this isn't done, I can't see much of an advantage to having it.

Also, the blogs I read and comment on, are not members. Therefor my comments are never rated. So I don't see that it will do me any good at all! Ha ha! I may well remove it, at least from my cat blog.
