My Newest Habit

No cute picture today, I am afraid. My human and I are engaged in a bit of a battle (who do you think will win). SHE says it is only a disagreement. I say the point is mute.

You see, I discovered something fabulous - a whole new potty facility. There are no bits of cat crystals, dirt, or litter to get between my paws. There is even a soft, springy mat to stand upon. SHE calls it a shower. Whatever.

SHE says she supposes if I were to use a place beyond the liter box, the shower would be the next best place. Though now that I use it, she is rather unhappy. She says the bathroom, no matter how many times she cleans, smells like cat urine. Duh. That's because I use it repeatedly.

This recent development has caused a lot more care to be paid with the liter box, but still, I think I prefer the shower. However, I do wish SHE would stop scolding me in the middle of doing my business.

SHE would like to know if any of you other cats do anything like this and how your humans convinced you to return to the liter box?

I never pottied anywhere but the litterbox. But my big sister, Pixie, she sometimes goes on the tile floor right next to the box. Pixie has to take Lasix for her heart condition, and it makes her go potty a lot. My Mommie carries her to the litterbox and puts her in it, and Pixie goes!

ps: Since you have had a change in potty habits, your mom should make sure you don't have a UTI or something like that, just to be safe.

Sorry Tigger or I don't do that and Mom is glad! Tigger always uses outside and I use the litter box when I am in and the ground when I am out! Has your Mom tried the Vet on line sites that let you post questions and then give you answers? Hope you find an answer!

Little Isis will sometimes use the shower, sometimes the kitchen sink.
Between the two, I prefer her to use the shower!
And there's not stopping Little Isis once she has her mind set to something - scolding will only get a "who me?" look.
We have an idea for Entrecard cat bloggers, called Entrecat.

I have a small confession to make. One time, I don't know why, I got inside the clothes dryer and thought this was a good place to do my business.

later MM put all her clean clothes in and dried them. They wondered why their washing didn't have the usual sweet aroma.

The next time I did it MM found it before she put the clothes in. She said that she would get much bigger litter trays as maybe they got too dirty for me overnight.

Actually, it was fun using the dryer. They close the door now, so I can't use it.

The shower? That's really a strange place... Haha :-) But from the shower to the human toilet it's not that far. This would be cool then.

The 'shower' thing is a perfectly reasonable area for, as the French say, la toilette. Running water too.

The woman in my house tried at least a dozen varieties of litter but I only like it when she puts fresh leaves on the top layer. These days I find the stuff they make litter from a little scratchy on my nether regions.

I drove her mad before she thought of the leaves. hehe

Haha! Scout hasn't used the shower before, although he does play in it all the time because he is fascinated by the faucet. I don't know Jazz, maybe your human will start keeping her bathroom door shut all the time.

Oh no! My human better not shut the door...my litter box is in that bathroom.

Yes, I have one or more cats who will pee in the shower from time to time... I'd rather have it there than on a rug! I took the litter box out of the bathroom, and now usually keep the bathroom door shut. That helps.

Has SHE by any chance been using bleach to clean the shower? That smells like ammonia (cat urine) and might be what's encouraging you.
